Lower Saucon Township (Northampton County), PA – Calais at Long Ridge, set high atop a tranquil hilltop in Lower Saucon Township, is resplendent with views of the Lehigh Valley. The 71-acre Gigliotti Group community is a vision in natural beauty.

Gigliotti Group, a Bucks County-based builder, is well respected in the industry for its sensitivity to the environment. It carefully chooses homesites with an appreciation for pristine settings that impact home designs and give residents year-round vistas to enjoy. With this commitment to preservation, the builder deeded 25 acres — 1/3 of the community of Calais at Long Ridge open space and wetlands — to Heritage Conservancy to be preserved in perpetuity.

“This shows an innovative approach between builder and land trust,” said Jeff Marshall, Heritage Conservancy vice president of Resource Protection. “Gigliotti Group will not only restrict and protect this land,” adds Marshall, “It has resolved to enhance it, as well.”

The land enhancement referred to by Marshall includes native grass and tree development. Working with Penn State University to determine vegetation cycles, slow growth grasses will be planted in Calais common areas. The tree line will be thickened and clover added to both balance the environment and provide food for deer. Residents will be beneficiaries in several ways. Homeowner association fees will be lower as a result of the need for less lawn mowing, deer will graze farther away from houses and the tableau from each window will be magnificent.

“Calais at Long Ridge will be quite impressive when complete,” said Marshall. “Native trees found in area 200 years ago, prior to farming, will be planted to re-establish the site as it was. This not only saves the land, it makes it better,” he concluded.

View and Preview At first glance, Calais at Long Ridge is an image of wonderful landscape paintings. Inspired by this artistry of terraced hillside and rich meadows, 24 semi-custom homes, each on one-plus acre, priced from the $600s, are styled in the tradition of Impressionistic and Post-Impressionistic painters. The Gauguin model exemplies the esthetics and originality of Gigliotti Group. A work in progress, the Gauguin is open for dusty shoe preview. The 4,978-square-foot luxury estate home offers three bedrooms with a fourth open- loft bedroom option. The lower level features 1,200 square of light- filled finished space. The model is expected to be completed by the end of May; visitors who tour the Gauguin will quickly observe the elegance and custom touches that give Gigliotti Group a stellar reputation among builders. They will also appreciate the professionally managed Homeowners Association that will be responsible for lawn care and snow and trash removal.

The community is located on Bergstresser Road in Hellertown. It is conveniently situated near major highways and commuter routes in Pennsylvania, northern New Jersey and New York. The sales office and model home preview are open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more details, call 610.838.3450 or visit the Gigliotti Group website at for photos and virtual tours.
